We just got back from a trip to Stow VT. Went to mass and sat next to a double masked woman. No one else was wearing a mask, yet this poor woman was terrified by her own shadow. It’s a pathology at this point. You can’t reason with crazy.
A woman at the church I work at is in a similar situation. She was the only masked person, and during coffee hour she had to leave due to anxiety over COVID. They've broken so many people, and it's unconscionable. They need to save these people by admitting their mistakes. But they won't. They'll let them suffer forever.
Gently, if I may ... these people need to save themselves by becoming aware of what a complete sham the COVID hysteria was, and/or all the mistakes made that are now openly admitted not just by "fringe elements" or conspiracy theorists but by the orgs themselves, and then growing a new spine and taking off their masks.
Just like nobody can work out for you, nobody can be smart or courageous in another's stead either.

My son removed his mask in choir class in 2022. It was supposed to be a planned student led protest day (until the principal sent out threatening emails the night before!). The kids were sick of it and didn’t understand, while the county mask “suggestion” had been removed they continued to suffocate our kids. His teacher kicked him out, then told a group of students “to ostracize him” for it! I went to the board and principal. The principal pretended to investigate and then LIED in an email and worse to our faces (both parents) stating that no one confirmed it. Yet my sons best friend said he was there AND had told the truth when he was called in and asked about it! The teachers union must be disbanded! They do not care about the kids!! Side note - I told my kids I would be there if they got kicked out of school and I was the ONLY parent standing there on the sidewalk out front of the school. Parents need to unite!!
It’s a conformity symbol, pure and simple. You’d likely find that many in the school feel, deep down, the way you do. But they’ve watched people loose jobs, influence, social circles etc over the last three years and they are scared. They probably have mouths to feed, sick parents to look after etc. So they bury that, and get caught up in their show of conformity. And the net result is people like yourself just can’t be allowed in. If it grows again, you watch, lots of the current schools that aren’t doing it, will.
But i do think it is important to understand that dynamic and go easy on the individuals and keep the aim laser focussed on the power structure pushing the agenda, and setting the context of increasing financial and social hardship which pummels people silently into submission. That way, there’s a chance for uniting and taking that power structure down.
But clearly, it sucks for the kids and everyone involved. And i too cannot believe the swell of return i’m noticing everywhere.
I am fortunately in the position where i’ll likely be able to say no if it get’s pushed here again in Spain.... but i know many who quite simply will not be able to do that, as here in the south, unemployment is high and jobs hard to come by.
Running monthly errands in the city yesterday I was surprised to see a mother & daughter (daughter late teens or early 20s) get out of a car fully masked. Literally nobody has masked up in these parts for a good 2 years or more now. Made me do a doubletake ...

That's just nuts. It must have come as quite a shock, so out of nowhere.
I know for myself, I live a semi-reclusive life in a rural area and thanks to the dox 3 years ago have had the luxury of not dealing with the common hairless hominid rabble for just as long. It used to kind of "startle" me to hear how much the filth is still running the show in this broken timeline, but at this point it genuinely feels completely unreal. I mean that in the most literal and objective sense of the word with no hyperbole whatsoever. "Wherewhen I come from" it is not the case. We're working on making it not the case herenow, either. But that work is not yet complete. I cannot say when it will be. What I can say is their time is very short, and our time ... IS. I can also say everything happens for a reason and I believe you're meant for better things. Keep singing.

Rural and semi-rural PNW is still very "based" as well. We just have to deal with Portland and Seattle as our Sacramentos.
Real estate prices are insane these days, but still far better deals than you'll get in California.
